Tuned to your Goals

The coaching sessions and lessons will be tailored to your personal goals. Based on what you want to achieve and learn, I create a personalized and dynamic plan. I share the general outline with you to give you a clear image of what to expect during the time that you’ve booked. After every session I evaluate and if needed change the plan accordingly. This way we can take some extra time to dive into specific areas you find interesting. Or in stead speed things up a little. Whatever is needed to thoroughly learn as much as possible in the time we have.

The Coach
The Teacher

With well over 20 years of experience in music production, playing multiple instruments, mixing and mastering, you might conclude that’s a lot to focus on. Well... yeah, but I'm a dedicated nerd I assure you. My music and production experience in combination with training people in IT software, have allowed me to develop as a teacher. The many (mental) roadblocks I’ve walked through in my musical career allow me to look ahead and communicate potential pitfalls you could fall into and shortcuts you can take to get somewhere more efficiently.

The reason I talk about both teaching and coaching is because on the one hand you might want to learn more about theory like (FM) synthesis or dive deep into creating grooves, arrangements and sound design. On the other hand you might want to get more into the conceptual, philosophical side of it all. Focusing more on ways to create an entire live performance or an approach to music creation in general. Or how to deal with things like writer’s block and being overwhelmed by choices. I struggled with a lot of these things as well in the past (and still learn every singe day) so I can help you dodge some of these roadblocks and to take a few shortcuts along the way.

Of course when you want to go full throttle on theory we can certainly do that as well!

Familiarity.

Where to begin? Is a question I get a lot. Sometimes the solution is easy yet hard to find. My approach is to have a thorough look at your current workflow ideas and will help you to make the process of creating music quicker for you.

Live performances can be complex to set up, but by trying different setups and applying certain methods like stripping things down to the bare bones, you can get to a point where the balance between having many possibilities and being in control is perfect. The trick is to find that perfect spot where you are on edge yet far from panic mode. Let’s find out together where that perfect balance for you is.

The psychology behind creating something as abstract as electronic music is interesting to say the least. The tools we have today give us a lot of freedom. However, as with writing a book, things like writer’s block are common for creative minds and can discourage one to dive deeper. Over the course of my musical career I have developed the consciousness to foresee these roadblocks and the ability to counter them with various, sometimes temporary, changes in my daily life.

I’m certain that as a creative mind you are familiar with creative roadblocks as well. And this is one of the things I can coach you through.
