Biography
Control // Modify is a live electronic music project by Dave Mech and Karel Eggerding (aka RUR / Static Element), blending experimental sound design and left-field techno with influences from genres like garage, dubstep, breakbeat and more. Both artists bring their passion for complex soundscapes and improvisation to the forefront, crafting unique performances entirely from scratch using a complete hardware setup consisting of various samplers, drum computers and synthesizers. Their collaborative process emphasises a symbiotic call-and-response dynamic, creating evolving grooves and atmospheres that defy genre boundaries. Drawing inspiration from a wide array of art, their live sets are immersive, unpredictable, and distinct.
